OPENING NIGHT 1971

E' ancora in fase di ultimazione, ma questo cd pare proprio che sia un pezzo da collezione. La Flaming Phoenix Productions entra sul mercato lanciando il concerto di apertura del terzo ingaggio del re all'International Hotel di Las Vega, nel 26 gennaio 1971. Visto che le traccie del primo show non sono tutte in ottimo stato, il cd e' stato completato anche con ottime canzoni proveniente dagli spettacoli del 27 e 28 gennaio (in entrambi i due Midnight shows ).Precedentemente alcuni pezzi sono usciti nell'FDT "The Impossible Dream" e la qualita' audio e' stata ottima. Si presume quindi che pure questo cd abbia un audio da sballo. Incociamo le dita!.

NEVER ENDING DEMAND Vol.1



La Rainbow Records si scatena in questa estate 2010 con due cd davvero speciali. Il primo lo vedete qui sopra. Si tratta del tour di inzio 1977. Elvis era ormai assente dagli studi di registrazione da diversi mesi e la necessita' della RCA era quella di riportare Elvis in studio. Il problema principale erano i gravi problemi fisici del cantante e la sua mancanza di interesse nel completare le registrazioni bruscamente interrotte il 30 ottobre dell'anno precedente. Il produrre Felton Jarvis decise di seguire il cantante in alcuni concerti live tra il febbraio e l'aprile del '77. Questo cd riguarda il concerto del 16 febbraio 77 a Montgomery. Si tratta dell'intero concerto che era gia' apparso in parte diversi anni fa sul bellissimo bootleg "Coming On Strong". Non ci sono informazioni sull'audio ma vista la qualita'  del cd sopra citato che conteneva la seconda parte di questo show (cd che e' considerato tutt'oggi uno dei migliori bootleg in assoluto con un audio spetaccolare), le speranze sono fiduciose

Il secondo cd invece e' questo: il concerto successivo al precedente. 17 febbraio 1977 live al Civic Center. Anche in questo caso ci troviamo di fronte ad un concerto intero. Da sottolineare la presenza in entrambi gli shoW di Polk Salad Annie, canzone che Elvis canto' per l'ultima volta durante il tour di aprile.

SUMMER FESTIVAL CONTINUES AT FULL BLAST



Ancora la GR CD 7201-02 ci presenta un altro concerto sempre dello stesso periodo: stavolta e' il Midnight show dell'11 agosto 1972. Anche questo cd uscira'  a dicembre. Da sottolineare c'e' una non eccessiva aspettativa dalle due registrazioni dei concerto appena visualizzati. Attualmente la miglior versione e' rappresentata dall'FTD "ELVIS SUMMER FASTIVAL" e dallo storico bootleg "BLAZING INTO THE DARKNESS".

A PRIVATE AUDIANCE WITH THE KING



La Straight Arrow torna con un prezioso prodotto davvero spettacolare. Si tratta di un doppio cd con forse la migliore performance di Elvis durante il suo ultimo ingaggio a Las Vegas: lo show in questione e' quello del 8 dicembre 1976. Questo stesso concerto era uscito nel lontano 1991 con il titolo "Tornado From Vegas" prodotto dalla PEAF ma in una versione incompleta di soli 70 minuti e con una qualita' piuttosto scadente. Questa volta invece il cd e' stato rivisionato alla perfezione.
La sua uscita avverra' il 10 dicembre 2010.
