Questo e' l'ultimo ingaggio di Elvis all'Hotel Hilton di Las Vegas. Fu un impegno abbastanza faticoso soprattutto nei primi giorni, con un Elvis che ebbe pochissimo tempo di riposo dopo la fine del tour di novembre. Comunque nonostante le sue condizioni fisiche che stavano peggiorando proprio durante questo ingaggio, Elvis riusci' ad esibirsi in dei buoni spettacoli. All'apertura fece il tradizionale Dinner Show. L'ingaggio stabiliva che Elvis avrebbe fatto un concerto a sera tranne il venerdi'e il sabato, in cui ne avrebbe fatti due.

Un brevissimo tour, ma sicuramente il piu' bello e brillante degli ultimi due anni. Un Elvis in grande forma, che conclude a Pittsburg con un concerto davvero mozzafiato. Tutti i concerti di questo tour sono davvero spettacolari. Elvis torna a muoversi sul palco come non faceva da un sacco di tempo e la sua voce tocca dei livelli davvero alti: limpida e forte. Dopo l'ingaggio faticoso di Las Vegas, qui sembra proprio che Elvis volesse uscire da quel tunnel depressivo tornando a divertirsi nei suoi spettacoli.
Peccato che tutto questo duro' solo pochi giorni.

Nuovo tour e questa volta le condizioni di Elvis balzarono agli occhi pure ai membri della band. In molti concerti Elvis comincio' a sedersi accanto alle Sweet Inspirations lasciando Sheril Nielson cantare alcuni pezzi come ad esempio Dannu Boy. In altre occasioni Elvis per problemi di incontinenza fu costretto ad abbandonare improvvisamente il palco per poi tornare dopo alcune decine di minuti. Fu un tour interminabile e faticoso.

THE LAST TOUR

17 Giugno - 26 Giugno 1977: Tour 29°

Appena quindici giorni dopo la fine del precedente tour il Colonnello Parker fisso' un nuovo impegno di nove giorni. Mentre Elvis era sempre piu' affaticato e peggiorava di giorno in giorno, Parker pensava agli affari. Entrambi avevano bisogno di denaro e questo tour aveva anche qualcosa di speciale. Infatti in Colonnello si era accordato con la CBS per far riapparire Elvis in televisione. Dai tempi del concerto via satellite alle Hawaii, le vendite di Elvis erano scese in picchiata, altri speciali televisivi non ce ne erano piu'stati. Parker parlo'con Elvis e Elvis fu d'accordo. Il programma prevedeva la registrazione di due spettacoli. Venne scelto lo show del 19 Giugno ad Omaha e quello del 21 Giugno a Rapid City. C'era grande dubbio e pessimismo tra i membri della band e anche tra i piu' stretti amici di Elvis.
Il cantante stava male, nei precedenti tour usciva spessissimo dal palco per difficolta'  fisico-respiratorie e nel tour di Aprile aveva cancellato gli ultimi spettacoli. Addirittura il dottor Nick (il medico privato di Elvis) aveva a fianco a se in ogni spettacolo un vasto numero di assistenti, in quanto tutti temevano che Elvis avrebbe potuto avere un collasso da un momento all'altro.
Nonostante questo Elvis fece questo tour. L'inizio fu davvero pessimo: nei primi quattro giorni aveva delle gravi difficolta'  motorie e nel primo spettacolo che venne filmato, Elvis appare gonfio come non mai. Non ha voce e fatica davvero ad andare avanti; ma nonostante questo continuo' a cantare. Le cose migliorarono due giorni dopo a Rapid City. Anche gli stessi componenti della TCB furono piu' tranquilli. Elvis appare in tutto lo show di buon umore e diminuito di peso. La voce raggiunge davvero un tono incredibile.
Il tour presegui' agli stessi livelli dello Show di Rapid City. Ronnie Tutt lascio' la band il 24 giugno e venne sostituito da Larry Londin il quale accompagno' la band fino al 26 giugno, giorno in cui Elvis fece il suo ultimo concerto. Fu uno spettacolo lunghissimo; duro' quasi due ore, alla fine molti musicisti si sentirono male. Elvis , ricorda John Wolkinson, canto' come non aveva mai fatto prima. Riprese vecchi brani come Release Me e I Can't Stop Loving You, esegui'una toccante versione di Bridge Over Trouble Water. Quello sarebbe stato l'ultimo concerto.
